Gel-type Strong-basic Anion-exchange Specialty Catalyst

KP-2013 is a gel strongly basic anion exchange resin-type catalyst of the sulphonated polystyrene series, generally as the initiator for catalyzing inorganic reactions or organic synthesis allowing traces of organics retained. Owing to its uniform and solid structure and low swelling rate after reversible ionic replacement reactions, this resin remains perform with strong resistance to osmotic shock.

In addition to its excellent physical &chemical stability and thermostable performance, KP-2013 is structured with fine crosslinked porosity and quite intense granular strength, which enables its nonadsorptive exclusivity of organic molecules without blocking resin pores neither interfering the reaction compositions. KP-2013 can be either directly used in inorganic reactions involving chloridion(Cl) where demineralization and catalysis are required or allowed.

Alternatively, it can also be used in hydroxyl-driven organic reactions where small amounts of organic anions are fine to be retained for synthesis yet not plugging the pores. Or even within pure-water systems where needless of anions to be exchanged, KP-2013’s strong-base groups will remain auto-hydrolyzed and discharge OH thereafter.

The typical application scenario would be within inorganic reactions induced by hydroxyl: Upon transforming its ion form Cl– as shipped into OH, KP-2013 releases adequate OH into the solution to get it initiated, by exchanging necessary anions within solution if any. In such way of exchanging ions as the initiating agent, KP-2013 catalyzes the progress of the reactions.

Taking advantage of its exemption from adsorbing organic composition, this premium resin model KP-2013 is hereby most suitable for drug-synthesis, cosmetic production, chemical refining stages when certain organics of are required to be retained without affecting reactants composition, and most importantly, more hydroxyls are needed to expedite a great deal of synthesis yield. Moreover, it is also applicable in catalyzing F&B processing in which color and odor are allowed to be kept while desalting, softening or deashing remain in need.
